Digital River
How does a software product get from its producer to its user as quickly, as simply and as cheap as possible? Quite simply, via Internet.
Digital River offers an e-business platform for the software industry. Producers of software can sell their products through the internet, utilizing electronic management of orders, payments, delivery and licensing. Buyers can purchase their software electronically, via the internet.
Around 1.000 software companies from more than one hundred countries sell their products through Digital River. But not all of the purchasers want to receive their software packages including manuals electronically. Especially with larger software packages, many prefer delivery on CD ROMs that are shipped physically.
Digital River forwards the order data of its customers who want their products shipped traditionally to PVS, via internet. The software companies who offer their products on the Digital River platform send their goods from production directly to PVS Fulfillment. Upon receipt, PVS employees check if they are complete and free of damage. Delivery is made from the fully-automated high-rack warehouse – quickly, smoothly and efficiently. Up-to-date IT and logistic tools support all the processes from goods receipt to storage and preparation for shipment.
